Matthew Potteiger, SUNY ESF
Matthew Potteiger is a professor of landscape architecture at the College of Environmental Science and Forestry, SUNY, Syracuse.
The focus of his teaching, research, and community engagement is on the intersection of food and landscape, how the food we eat shapes the ecology, public spaces, and social life of our landscapes. His community-based food system studio at ESF has working with many local farmers, market managers, and other key stakeholders in the local food system.
As a founding member of Syracuse Grows, he has been involved with local urban agriculture and food justice initiatives. He has studied food systems in cities in North America as well as Japan, Brazil, Italy, and the Czech Republic.
