David Kloet
No matter the assignment, David strives to create simple and powerful interventions that respond to the identity and logic of the location. David specializes in creating complex public spaces and landscape architectural transformations, such as his award-winning work includes the PPS Rijkskantoor De Knoop project in Utrecht and the urban transformation of Clichy-en-Seine, Grand Paris in France. David was also one of the finalists in the Kinderdijk World Heritage design competition.
As a partner and designer at Karres en Brands, David works on both rural and urban assignments, including the design of public spaces for the Binnenhof - Dutch parliament , Manifest for the Parkwedges of Amsterdam, the design for the Rondje Weerwater circuit in Almere, spatial integration plan for IJsseldijk Krimpenerwaard and Moscow open spaces project in collaboration with StrelkaKB. He also contributed to various points of elaboration for the image quality plan of the Groene Singel, an integrated vision for liveability, slow mobility and design in the area around the Antwerp Ring. Currently, he is working on the transformation of the King Willem II Barracks in Tilburg, the Campus 2.0 for ASML and he is part of the qualityteam of Hart van Zuid area development project, restructuring of more than 150 acres will improve spatial quality, public space, create jobs and provide a better mix of facilities in Rotterdam South.
In addition to his work at Karres en Brands, David regularly teaches at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam and was a visiting lecturer/tutor at the Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, ENSP Blois, Technical University of Delft, Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam and Erasmus University College Brussels. He regularly gives lectures related to his work in the field of landscape architecture and design.
